My name is Shawel Tadesse, and for over 18 years, I have dedicated my career to the world of media and communications. Today, I live in the United States, where I have witnessed firsthand the complex realities of the Ethiopian diaspora.
As someone who walked this path myself, I observed a heartbreaking trend: while America is a land of immense opportunity—a place where the "American Dream" is truly attainable through hard work—many of us from the developing world find ourselves trapped. Instead of building wealth, we often live paycheck to paycheck, burdened by chronic financial stress.
The Discovery
Driven by my own experiences and a desire for change, I spent the last two years conducting in-depth research to understand why our community struggles to break the cycle of financial instability. My findings were clear:
The obstacle isn't the country; it is a gap in mentorship. Those who arrived before us often lacked the financial literacy required to navigate this system, and consequently, they couldn't pass down the wisdom of wealth-building. This has left nearly 90% of our community in a state of financial survival rather than growth.
The New Journey
Once I unlocked the blueprint for financial freedom, my own journey changed. But I realized I couldn't walk this path alone. I felt a deep responsibility to share these insights with my brothers and sisters across the USA who are still navigating the same struggles I once did.
